View of Brandasund and the coastal landscape

Plan your visit to Brandasund

Brandasund lies at the northern tip of Bømlo, about 20 kilometres from Svortland. The road crosses islands and bridges through open coastal scenery. You can arrive by car, motorcycle, bicycle, local bus or boat.

Conditions and services can change quickly. Use current sources when planning your journey.

Getting here

By car, follow the roads north from Svortland through Urangsvåg and on towards Goddo and Brandasund. The road is narrow and hilly in places. Drive calmly and be considerate of oncoming traffic, cyclists and local conditions.

Skyss operates a local bus between Svortland and Brandasund. Timetables vary between weekdays and seasons, so use the Skyss journey planner on the day you travel.

Weather and sea

Brandasund is exposed to the open sea, and weather, wind and waves can change. Check both the ordinary weather forecast and marine forecasts before activities at sea or on the outer islands.

Show consideration

Brandasund is a place to visit, a workplace and a home. Park only where permitted, keep roads and quays clear, and respect private property. Follow the duties associated with Norway’s right of access and take your rubbish with you.
