A landscape shaped by the sea
Utslåttøy lies in the archipelago outside Brandasund. Waves, wind and geological processes have shaped ravines, rock fissures and unusual formations in the rock. A small lagoon lies inside the island, in striking contrast to the open sea around it.
The experience is about both the landscape and the journey through the islands. Nature is vulnerable, and visitors must respect the weather, wildlife and local conditions.

Access by boat
Utslåttøy can only be reached by boat. Landing and moving around the island can be demanding in wind, swell or on slippery rock. The trip should be made with local knowledge, suitable equipment and conditions that allow both transport and landing to be safe.
Local providers may offer guided trips to Utslåttøy. Availability, prices and departures must be checked directly with the provider. Visit Brandasund does not arrange bookings.

Take care of the island
- Wear a life jacket during the boat trip.
- Follow instructions from the skipper or guide.
- Take all rubbish back with you.
- Avoid disturbing birds and other wildlife.
- Keep well away from slippery edges, ravines and breaking waves.
