Hiking and cycling

Flowers in the coastal landscape by Brandasund

Explore the coastal landscape at your own pace

Brandasund and the road north across Bømlo are well suited to short walks and cycling. The landscape is open and varied, with bridges, islands, narrow sounds and views towards the sea.

Brandasundsåta

The short hike to Brandasundsåta gives views across the village and archipelago. External route descriptions grade it as easy, but the final section is steeper and has steps. Read the latest description before you go.

Cycling from Svortland

The cycling route between Svortland and Brandasund passes through varied coastal scenery. The road is narrow, hilly and busy in places. Allow plenty of time, wear visible clothing and use lights, and be considerate of both cars and oncoming cyclists.

Route length and other details may change in external descriptions. See the latest route description at Visit Norway.

Kurebu and walks on Bømlo

The Kurebu day-trip cabin is on Goddo. The cabin is an easy-access hiking destination, but not an overnight cabin. Bømlo Hiking Association also lists several local walks.
